Some energy plans include a mandatory fixed one-time, monthly or annual membership fee or an account establishment fee.
Bill Hero includes any such fees in its calculations by applying the fee pro-rata over 1 year.
For example, a plan with a $120 one-time membership fee would be calculated with an additional $10 charge in the Bill Hero calculation for what this plan would cost for a monthly bill.
The system actually calculates this additional charge by bill-days, not months, but you get the idea.
Where Membership charges exist in a plan being compared, Bill Hero currently will add the Membership fee component to the Daily Connection Charge.
So even though you will not see Membership Charge as a line item in the price breakdown for each plan, rest assured that the price of the Membership Charge is completely and accurately included in the comparison.
